Day 1 - Lost Luggage

It was a rough start to our vacation! 4:15 a.m. on our way to brother Rich’s house in Merrick. He drove us to JFK airport. But when we got to his house the tailgate of the truck was down and our suitcase was missing. We backtracked to Massapequa. No trace of it. We decided to go anyway and made it to JFK in time for our 6:30 flight to Salt Lake City with just 2 backpacks on our backs. Luckily all the IDs, passes, phones, wallets, and shoes were in the backpacks. First stop in Salt Lake City was shopping. We picked up a couple changes of clothes and we are making the best of it. The ride to Victor, ID, where we rented an AirBnB, was 4 hours. It’s beautiful and peaceful, about 30 minutes from Jackson, WY and the Tetons. Sunday we plan to go white water rafting on the Snake River.
